iDirect Government Technologies
In 2011, iDirect Government Technologies (iGT) turned to Dahl-Morrow International to hire a senior executive team member for the company. President John Ratigan had in the past hired based on relationships or referrals, but wanted a fresh perspective and management style for this role. He turned to Dahl-Morrow International to help him find the right candidate. iGT is a satellite communications vendor offering IP communications technology that enables constant connectivity for voice, video and data applications in diverse and challenging environments.

The DMI team used a collaborative approach with iGT to find the very best candidate for this executive position. The selection began with a discovery process to learn from Mr. Ratigan exactly what he wanted from this position. DMI’s approach and questions helped him further refine his list of requirements for the position The list of candidates DMI brought in to interview, in the words of Mr. Ratigan, were “nothing but great candidates.”

Antenova
Antenova is a leading developer and supplier of high performance antennas and antenna modules for wireless communication and consumer electronic devices, such as mobile handsets, portable navigation devices, portable media players, PDAs and laptop computers.

When Antenova sought to expand its operations to Asia, there were employment, legal, logistical and cultural hurdles to overcome, and myriad questions to answer: How would employment regulations in the chosen country affect personnel decisions? Could there be hidden costs associated with setting up shop in Asia? What might be the ramifications of shutting down if the new operation did not succeed? Antenova turned to DMI for both executive placement and business guidance.

DMI had already worked with Antenova for ten years, placing top executives and board members at their Cambridge, U.K. headquarters, so DMI knew the company’s culture, its industry and what they were looking for. For the expansion to Taiwan, DMI helped them work through business and logistical issues and recruited top executives throughout the Pacific Rim. In 2005, GeoEye hired DMI to help fill some senior positions in their company. DMI, with its extensive network and understanding of satellite and GIS industry worked closely with GeoEye to understand its corporate culture and understand what type of person would work successfully there. As a result, DMI was able to place diverse senior roles such as VP of Engineering, Senior Director of International Sales as well as other roles.

As a result, DMI was able to place many critical senior positions, including vice president of engineering and other key roles. The relationship continues.
