Who Should Send Their Resume?
Industry is looking for individuals with expertise in all facets of postal operations to include, but not limited to, network operations, transportation, processing, mail room operations, logistics, security, and quality assurance. Whether you are retired or soon to retire, or investigating career enhancement opportunities within or outside the US, or if you are just exploring more challenging positions, we would be pleased to have your resume.
Why would you want to share your resume? Consider the following:
- The US Postal Service presently offers contracts to industry to support logistics associated with all classes of mail to include air and ground transportation and terminal handling services.
- The US Postal service is considering expanding contracts to support the nation wide USPS Bulk Mail Center (BMC) operations to include design of an alternate network, associated facilities, equipment, personnel, network management, transportation, and security.
- Various aspects of military mail have been contracted out to industry to include:
- Sorting, transportation, and distribution of military mail to all regions of the world.
- Management and operation of Major Post Offices (MPOs) in Afghanistan.
- Various aspects of domestic mail operations at Military Bases.
- Management and operation of MPOs in Iraq are in transition of being contracted out.
- Various other initiatives are under way to increase the thrust of outsourcing military mail.
- Most US Government Civil Agencies (i.e. NASA, Social Security Administration, Department of State, etc.) are outsourcing their mail operations.
- Industry, educational institutions, and others are outsourcing their mail operations.
- Expansion of USPS work share with industry partnerships has resulted in a growing need for mail and shipping expertise for global delivery needs.
